American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Instructor Course prepares qualified healthcare and CPR professionals to become AHA instructors. Participants learn how to effectively teach AHA courses, demonstrate psychomotor skills, facilitate skills practice and testing, evaluate student performance, and follow AHA instructional and administrative requirements.
The course covers instructor responsibilities, teaching methodologies, course preparation, skills demonstrations, student evaluation, remediation, and maintaining compliance with AHA guidelines. Upon successful completion, candidates can begin the process of teaching applicable AHA CPR and emergency cardiovascular care courses through an authorized AHA Training Center.
Prerequisite: Candidates must meet AHA instructor eligibility requirements and hold the appropriate current AHA provider credential for the discipline they intend to teach.
