The Seymour Ambulance Association is offering a Safesitter class on Aug. 13 and Aug. 15 from 9am – 1pm.

Participants must attend both sessions.

The course is designed to teach 11- to 13-year-olds babysitting techniques, children’s activities and child safety. Instructors have experience with children and are certified through SafeSitter as instructors. Students will learn about various bottles and infant materials on the market, as well as receive hands-on training with common child care tasks such as diaper changing.

Additionally, students will be taught how to administer CPR, relieve an air obstruction and use an AED (automated external defibrillator). They will be certified in adult, infant, and child CPR/AED through the American Heart Association. The course cost is $75.
